Sentences can be classified into five categories, according to their meaning or function. They are:- Assertive Sentence. Interrogative Sentence. Imperative Sentence. Optative Sentence. Exclamatory Sentence. Assertive Sentence: An assertive sentence is a simple/general statement or assertion, either affirmative or negative.
