Use of Can, Could, Be Able To  Unable To

·         Can हे क्षमता, (ability) दर्शक modal auxiliary आहे.

·         वर्तमान काळात can चा तर , भूतकाळात  could चा वापर करतात.

·         Can, Could हे मुख्य क्रियापदाच्या अगोदर येतात, त्यानंतर क्रियापदाचेमुळरूपयेते.

·         वाक्यात can, can not, could, could not, be able to, unable to चा वापर करण्यासाठी खालील तक्त्याचा वापर करावा.

·          परीक्षेत पुढील प्रमाणे सूचना दिल्या जाऊ शकतात.

Be able to चा वापर करताना:-

·         Be म्हणजे to beचे am, is, are, was, were हे रूपे आहेत.

·         प्रथम वाक्याचा कर्ता लिहावा.

·         त्यानंतर can, can not, could, could not, be able to, unable to चा वापर करण्यासाठी वरील तक्त्याचा अभ्यास करावा.

Can = Present Tense


Could = Past Tense

1. I can play. (Use able to)
Ans. I am able to play.

2. I could play (Use able to)
Ans. I was able to play.

3. He could tell me. (Use able to)
Ans. He was able to tell me.

4. They could tell me. (Use able to)
Ans. They were able to tell me.

5. She can work. (Use able to)
Ans. She is able to work.


6. I can write a letter.
Ans. I am able to write a letter.

7. She could eat a mango.
Ans. She was able to eat a mango.

8. She could not eat sandwich.
Ans. She was unable to eat sandwich.

9. I cannot dance.
Ans. I am unable to dance.

10. I cannot write an essay.

Ans. I am unable to write an essay.

Examples for Practice:-

1. I can do it tomorrow.
2. She can work hard.
3. They cannot play well in the game...

4. I could manage well enough
5. I knew I could not afford caviar.
6. She could not read, and it terrified her
7. It is possible for her to join us for tomorrow’s party. 
8. It is possible for us to play cricket tomorrow.
9. Hawking could not attend a conference in Arizona.
10. An old Cuban fisherman could not catch any fish for eighty-four days.
11. Police and judges cannot protect our children.

12. He cannot do that.

13. He does not seem swim.

 

15. I cannot function alone.
